Christian Life Day - Making Christ's Love Known |
The Minnesota South Christian Life Committee invites all to participate in Christian Life Day on Friday, June 20 th at the Mayo Civic Center , Rochester prior to the start of the 22 nd MN South LWML District Convention which begins with our traditional Communion service at 7:30 PM that evening.
“Making Christ's Love Known” is the theme based on the Bible verse “Dear children let us not love in words or tongue but in action and in truth.” 1 John 3:18 NIV. Though study of the scriptures, our goal for those participating is to come to a better understanding of Christ's love and therefore be equipped to share His love with others.
Christian Life Day will begin with a hymn sing at 8:45 AM and opening devotions will start at 9:00 AM . Sharing Christ's love will be the focus of each Bible study session as we learn and come to an understanding of what Christ's love means and then we can be better equipped to pass His love on to others.
New this year will be the option to participate in Servant Events that the Human Care Committee has planned. You will have the option on your convention registration form of selecting your choice of either Servant Events or staying in the convention arena for the 4 th Bible study session. Christian Life Day will end at 3:30 PM with closing devotions.
Christian Life events during the District Convention
The Christian Life Luncheon is scheduled for Saturday, June 21 during the convention noon recess. The year there will be plenty of space for zone and society Christian Life leaders. Look for the sign-up information in the Summer WOM so that a sufficient amount of materials and seats will be available. Don't forget to sign up for the meal package on the registration form so that you will be able to eat. Christian Life Display
Take time and stop by the Christian Life booth at the District Convention. On display will be a sample of the Christian Life materials that are available through the LWML catalog. Many of the items including the new Mustard Seeds will also be available for purchase at the LWML store during the convention. The complete file of the LWML Resources will be available for you to view and request copies. Only charge is for the copies and mailing costs.

Please mark your calendars for a Joyshop near you this September. The theme for the Joyshops will be Hot Topics II. Those of you who attended the Joyshops in 2006 will remember that there were many issues of living our faith in today's society that we did not get a chance to discuss. Therefore, continuing in the same light we hope that the Joyshops this year will help to assist each participant to recognize the power of God's grace in their life. There are two Bible verses that will be emphasized: “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2Chorinthians 12:9 ESV , and “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20b ESV .

2008 LWML Prayer Service
Has your society used the 2008 LWML Prayer Service? Once again, this wonderful Prayer Service is available on line at www.lwml.org/docs/Prayer_Service_2008.pdf
The title this year is, “Secure in Jesus, My Rock and Fortress” authored by Rev. Barry J. Keurulainen who was the proclaimer for the opening communion service at the 2005 Tampa convention. This Prayer Service encourages participants to “declare Jesus' praise and serve others.”
