INFORMATION ON SUBMITTING LWML MISSION GRANTS PROPOSALS
The 22nd Biennial Minnesota South District Convention dates have been set: June 20-22, 2008 .
1 John 3:1, NKJ "Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the sons of God."
• Mission grants will be selected at the convention for the 2008-2010 biennium. It is time now to consider possibilities to be placed on the ballot. The following are guidelines:
- Look for needs on the local, zone, and district, national and international levels. Consider mission congregations, missionaries, the underprivileged, the aged, refugees, schools, needy, etc.
- Study the Mission Grants Section of the MN SO section of the LWML Handbook (available at your local society or by request from Gayle Baumgard). Research the grant thoroughly. Be sure the grant is "mission" in emphasis and that it well documented.
A proposal has two elements:
- A resolution
The resolution should be concise and specific. It should include grant goals, the need for the funds, and the amount of funds needed.
• An information sheet
The separate information sheet should be detailed, giving background information on the needs. Include a few photos relating to the Proposal.
• The project proposals are studied by the Mission Grants Committee, the LWML District President and Pastoral Counselors, District LCMS, and the Synodical Mission Board for inclusion on the ballot for proposal.
The delegates at the 2008 District LMWL Convention make the final decision.
• The Deadline for proposals for the 2008 Convention ballot is January 1, 2008 .
