Mission Grant Mite Update

Dear Fellow LWML’ers,

In May we collected $39,852.41 for mites and outreach which brings us to a total of $169,603.57 for mites this biennium. Praise the Lord for all the Blessings!

LWML Minnestoa South Distict has received a large financial gift to be used for our missions.  This springs us forward in our monthly mite giving but in no way does it give us a feee ride. Everyone's mites are still needed this biennium to reach our goal, so plase continue to give.

I am reminded of th words in Hebrews 12:1-2a (NIV) "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with the perseverance the race marked out for us.  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith."

Here are some suggested ways to give a donation to mites. Give in honor of someone, in honor of a special anniversary or a birthday. And remember that someone who is special to you that taught you to know about Jesus. That is what mission work is all about.

One of the objectives of the LWML Minnesota South is to gather funds for mission grants.  If you are unable to give mites at your local society this month, consider using the link "Give Online: on the home page under the Mite Goal Graph.  It is a secure and safe way of giving.

  • Our goal can be met through mite contributions, Mission Grant Memorials, Mission Grant Donations, Thrivent Choice dollars, Prayer Service offerings, Amazon Smile, or Joyful Response.

  • Joyful Response is a way to use direct deposit each month. When you sign up, funds are automatically transferred on the date you specify. This form is listed under Resources/Forms.

  • Donate electronically by clicking on the “Give Online” button on the home page.

Gospel Outreach Update

Monthly featured Mission Grant: June 2021May 2021

What is a Mite box?

It’s a cardboard box (3-1/8” x 1-3/4” x 2-1/4”) designed by LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League) to receive thank offerings, above and beyond our regular church giving. It holds pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollars and checks.

Mites collected in Mite Boxes are used to support mission grants selected at conventions.

From Scripture we read, Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth, but she, out of her poverty, put in everything - all she had to live on. (Mark 12:41-43).
